How do I dispute a Smartcard charge?

looch lets you dispute an eligible Smartcard charge from its notes, add an optional file, and write an explanation of 25 to 1,000 characters.

A Smartcard is a virtual Visa card that works everywhere Visa is accepted. looch lets you dispute an eligible Smartcard charge from 'Notes & bill pay details' and submit an explanation of 25 to 1,000 characters. looch accepts one optional PDF, JPEG, or PNG file up to 5 MB and then tells you to look out for emails detailing the next steps.

You can file the dispute from the charge

  1. From the nav bar, go to Cash, then Activity.

  2. Tap the Smartcard charge to open 'Spent money'.

  3. Tap 'Notes & bill pay details'.

  4. Tap 'Dispute'.

  5. Tap 'I’m disputing this charge'.

  6. Choose how you used the Smartcard, such as 'I provided my Smartcard info'.

  7. Choose 'I purchased a service' or 'I purchased merchandise' when asked.

  8. Choose your reason, such as 'I never received the merchandise'.

  9. Check the amount on 'Dispute amount'.

  10. Tap 'Next'.

  11. Complete the screens for your reason, such as 'Expected merchandise' and 'Expected date'.

  12. Enter 25 to 1,000 characters on 'Explanation'.

  13. Tap 'Next'.

  14. Tap 'Add attachment' on 'Additional documentation' to add an optional PDF, JPEG, or PNG up to 5 MB.

  15. Tap 'Dispute charge'.

  16. Review 'Charge disputed' or use 'Add merchant to blacklist' on 'Block merchant'.

The dispute flow follows how the Smartcard was used

looch asks 'I provided my Smartcard info' or 'I didn’t provide my Smartcard info' for online or typed-in charges. looch asks whether you purchased a service, purchased merchandise, or don’t recognize the purchase when the Smartcard was present.

  • 'Dispute' appears only when the charge can be disputed and hasn’t already been disputed.

  • The disputed amount can’t exceed the amount charged.

  • The explanation must contain 25 to 1,000 characters.

  • One optional PDF, JPEG, or PNG file can be up to 5 MB.

  • The app says to look out for emails detailing the next steps.

Why don’t I see 'Dispute' on a Smartcard charge?

looch shows 'Dispute' only when the Smartcard charge can be disputed and no dispute has been raised on it yet.

Can I dispute only part of a Smartcard charge?

looch lets you change the amount on 'Dispute amount'. The disputed amount can’t exceed the amount charged.

What files can I add to a Smartcard dispute?

looch accepts one optional PDF, JPEG, or PNG file up to 5 MB.

How long can my dispute explanation be?

looch requires an explanation of 25 to 1,000 characters.

Can I stop a merchant from charging my Smartcard again?

looch may show 'Block merchant' after you file. When offered, 'Add merchant to blacklist' blocks future charges from that merchant on the Smartcard.
