How do I create a Smartcard? | looch

A Smartcard is a virtual Visa card that works everywhere Visa is accepted. looch lets executives and Managers with 'Can issue & manage Smartcards' create one in the app. looch lets you create a Smartcard for yourself or issue one to a teammate.

You’ll create and control a virtual Smartcard

Go to Cash, then Smartcards in the nav bar. On the 'Virtual' tab, swipe to the '+' card, tap it, then tap anywhere on the intro.
Choose a looch account on 'Linked account', tap 'Next', then tap anywhere on the next intro.
Type a tracking tag such as Contractor Spend on 'Virtual Smartcard:Tracking tag', then tap 'Next'.
Choose 'Daily', 'Monthly', or 'All-time' on 'Virtual Smartcard:Spending limit', enter the amount, then tap 'Next'.
Choose 'Smartcard is always on', 'Weekdays only', or 'Auto-cancel' on 'Spending days', then tap 'Next'.
Tap 'Next' on 'Expense policy'.
Tap anywhere on the auto-enter intro, choose a category on 'Auto-enter' or tap 'Skip', then use 'Whitelist' or 'Blacklist' on 'Merchant restrictions' or tap 'Skip'.
Switch off any category the Smartcard shouldn’t pay for on 'Category controls', then tap 'Next'.
Switch off any setting the Smartcard shouldn’t allow on 'More controls', slide 'Create Smartcard', then pass device authentication.
Add the Smartcard to your wallet on 'Your Smartcard is ready', or tap 'I’ll do this later'.

Smartcards shows the '+' card on the 'Virtual' tab in the looch app.

'Linked account' shows Primary Business selected above Tax Stash in the looch app.

'Virtual Smartcard:Tracking tag' shows Contractor Spend entered in the looch app.

'Virtual Smartcard:Spending limit' shows a $2,500 monthly limit in the looch app.

'Spending days' shows 'Smartcard is always on' selected in the looch app.

'Expense policy' shows the 'Next' control in the looch app.

'Category controls' shows all six spending categories on in the looch app.

'More controls' shows the settings and 'Create Smartcard' slider in the looch app.

'Your Smartcard is ready' shows the wallet options in the looch app.

Smartcard controls follow clear rules

Executives can create Smartcards. Managers can create them when their Smartcards permission is 'Can issue & manage Smartcards'. Executives are the Representative and Executive roles.
Every Smartcard transaction carries the card’s tracking tag for activity feed searches and financial reports.
A daily limit resets every day at 5:00 am ET. A monthly limit resets on the first day of the month at 5:00 am ET. An all-time limit stops the Smartcard when the amount is reached.
'Weekdays only' turns the Smartcard off from Friday at 8:00 pm ET to Monday at 5:00 am ET.
Every control can be changed later from the tiles under the Smartcard.
Closing early shows 'Changes will be lost'. The Smartcard won’t be created after you tap 'Got it!'.

Smartcard choices stay available

Can I create a Smartcard for someone on my team?

looch lets you choose a teammate from the cardholder control at the top of Smartcards. Follow the same steps, slide 'Issue Smartcard', and looch shows 'Teammate notified' when it’s created.

Can I change a Smartcard’s limit after I create it?

A Smartcard’s limit and other controls can be changed later from the tiles under the Smartcard.

What does auto-cancel do?

Smartcard auto-cancel cancels the card on your chosen date at 11:59 pm ET. looch suggests it for a business trip or subscription free trial.

Which account does a new Smartcard spend from?

A Smartcard spends from the looch account selected on 'Linked account', such as Primary Business or Tax Stash. A virtual Smartcard’s linked account can be updated anytime.

Do I have to add a new Smartcard to my wallet right away?

A Smartcard can be added with 'Add to Apple Wallet' or 'Add to Google Wallet'. You can tap 'I’ll do this later' instead.
