How do I add an external bank account to looch?

looch lets you add a business external account for $10/month or a personal account with no subscription, then verify it with a $0.01 deposit.

Add a business bank account

  1. Tap 'External acct' on the dashboard.

  2. Open “What type of external account?” and tap 'Bank account'.

  3. Tap 'I mainly use it for this business', then tap 'Next'.

  4. Connect your bank: Find it, sign in there, and pick the accounts.

  5. Choose an account on “Which account will you be adding?” then tap 'Next'.

  6. Tap anywhere on the notice, choose the date on “Start date”, then tap 'Next'.

  7. Type a nickname on “External account nickname” or tap 'Skip'.

  8. Review “Subscription review”, then tap 'Confirm'.

Add a personal bank account

  1. Tap 'External acct' on the dashboard, then tap 'Bank account'.

  2. Tap 'I mainly use it for personal purposes', then tap 'Next'.

  3. Enter the 'Routing number' and 'Account number' on “Add a personal bank account”, then tap 'Next'.

  4. Add a nickname if you want one, then tap 'Add external account'.

Verify the external account

  1. Look for the $0.01 deposit in 1 business day with a description starting with “SM” and containing “ACCTVERIFY”.

  2. Go to the account: From the looch menu, go to Accounts, then External accounts, and tap 'Verify' on the account.

  3. Enter the 4 characters after SM on “Verify your bank account”, then tap 'Confirm'.

External accounts have different features

  • An accounting-enrolled external account is $10/month per account, and its transactions are categorized with your books.

  • A personal external account has no subscription and isn’t accounting-enrolled, so its transactions don’t appear in your activity feed.

  • The transaction import start date can go back up to 24 months.
